Spirits of the Waters Flow Freely has one of the oldest ancient symbols within it. In the old ways, a straight horizontal line was drawn with a dot at the center, representing the center of the Earth. The horizontal line is the flowing, continuous, unchanging nature of all creation within the universe. An S-shaped line is drawn above and below the horizontal line to represent the ever-changing nature of the people. It is a symbol of balance and harmony. Earthmother gives the waters to the Earth as a grand Eagle Dancer moves across the sky. The pathway of change is shown by the river.
